About me
An educator, coach, author and researcher...
As a self-proclaimed “Social Change Agent”, I am unapologetic in my commitment to improving health equity through interventions designed to enhance our abilities to lead and effect change. Guiding individuals and organizations that possess an internal drive to grow fuels my passion, and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to do just that.
With a background as a former athlete and coach, I have a unique perspective on delivering content related to leadership, self-awareness, and equity to hybrid environments. Additionally, I’ve had the privilege of building communities, such as the virtual space I led for 100 diversity and inclusion champions at one of the largest health-based compliance and education providers in the United States.
As a lifelong learner, I hold a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health, a master’s degree in Public Administration, and a Bachelor of Science in community health. My academic focus spans leadership, organizational development, and social determinants of health, and my research has covered a range of topics, including cancer disparities among Medicare patients and the international concern over contaminated drinking water.
Furthermore, I am certified as both a Certified Diversity Professional (CDP©) and Certified Diversity Executive (CDE©) from the Institute of Diversity Certification™.
In my spare time, I enjoy exploring the world of hobby homesteading, raising chickens, and engaging in other self-sustainability activities. But most importantly, I’m confident that together, we can make a meaningful change.
